An .IT Mail Access Stealer Log Surfaces Months After It Was Built

HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log distributed on Telegram in February 2026, containing 11,618 records tied to .IT mail accounts. The file, shared under the label "11.700 .IT Mail Access," bundles email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs where those credentials were entered, the classic fingerprint of malware that harvests saved logins directly from an infected device. HEROIC's records list the affected accounts under the United States.

Why This Is Dangerous: No Encryption to Break

Unlike a hashed password database that attackers have to crack before they can use it, this file stores passwords in plaintext. That means anyone who gets a copy of the log can start testing logins immediately, no cracking tools, no delay, no expertise required. Pair that with the URL for each entry, and an attacker has a ready-made map of exactly which site each password unlocks.

What Was Exposed in the 11.700 .IT Mail Access Dump

  • Email addresses used to log into .IT mail accounts
  • Plaintext passwords stored in the clear, with no hashing or encryption
  • URLs showing exactly which login page each password was used on

Why This Matters If You Use One of These Accounts

Most people reuse the same password across several accounts, which is exactly what makes a leak like this one useful to attackers. With a working email, password, and the site it unlocks, criminals can attempt credential stuffing against banking portals, social media, and other email accounts, hoping the same combination works elsewhere. If it does, the result is account takeover, unauthorized purchases, or a hijacked inbox that gets used to reset passwords on everything else tied to that email.

How This Stealer Log Ended Up on Telegram

Stealer logs like this one come from malware, often disguised as pirated software, a cracked game, or a fake download, that installs itself quietly on a victim's computer. Once running, it reaches into the browser's saved passwords and autofill data, copies out every stored login along with the web address it belongs to, and sends the whole package back to whoever controls the malware. From there, logs get bundled, labeled by theme (in this case, ".IT Mail Access"), and passed around or sold in Telegram channels and dark web forums, sometimes months after the original infection.

Check If Your Email Was Exposed

You don't need to take this on faith. HEROIC's free breach scanner checks your email address against a database of more than 400 billion leaked records, including stealer logs like this one, so you can find out in seconds whether your credentials have surfaced. If you're in this dataset or any other, changing the affected password and turning on multi-factor authentication is the fastest way to shut the door on attackers.
