A Stealer Log Tied to KATANA_CLOUD Surfaces on Telegram

In May 2024, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file circulating on Telegram under the name KATANA_CLOUD PRIVATE 513. The file contained 16,814 records, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs tied to each login. Stealer logs like this one are generated by malware that quietly harvests saved credentials directly from an infected computer.

Why Exposed URLs and Passwords Are So Dangerous

Unlike a simple list of emails, this dataset pairs each password with the exact website it unlocks. That combination hands an attacker a ready made login sheet: no guessing which site a password belongs to, just copy, paste, and log in. If any of these passwords are reused elsewhere, the risk extends far beyond the original site.

What Was Exposed in the KATANA_CLOUD PRIVATE 513 Log

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs linking each password to the site it was used on

Why This Matters for Anyone Reusing Passwords

Stealer logs are one of the most direct paths to account takeover because the credentials are current and confirmed working at the time of infection. Attackers use them for credential stuffing, testing the same email and password pair against banking, email, and social media logins to see where else it works. From there, identity theft and financial fraud become real possibilities.

How a Stealer Log Like This One Works

Stealer malware infects a device, often through a fake download or malicious attachment, then scans the browser for saved passwords, autofill data, and session cookies. Everything it finds is packaged into a log file and sent back to the attacker, who then sells or shares it in private Telegram channels like the one where this file surfaced.
