2,494 email addresses and plaintext passwords are now circulating after a stealer log file was uploaded to a Telegram channel on 23 January 2025. HEROIC analysts traced the file back to a source called loudPrivacy Private Cloud, where each record pairs an email, a password, and the URL of the site that login belonged to.

Inside the loudPrivacy Private Cloud Leak

The name suggests a promise of privacy, but the file tells a different story. Rather than protecting user data, it appears to have collected login information straight from infected devices before being packaged and shared publicly, the opposite of what its name implies.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of the sites each login was used on

Why This Matters

Plaintext passwords can be used the moment an attacker opens the file, no extra work required. Criminals often run these logins through credential stuffing tools that test the same email and password across banking, email, and shopping sites. A successful match can lead to account takeover, followed by identity theft or financial fraud.

How Stealer Log Malware Works

Stealer malware infects a device through a fake download, cracked software, or malicious attachment, then quietly scans the browser for saved passwords and session cookies. The gathered data is sent back to the attacker, oftentimes bundled with logs from other infected devices before it ever reaches a public channel.
