270055_BR Stealer Log: Could Your Account Login Be Compromised
HEROIC analysts found the 270055_BR_191.185.78.35_07-06-23 stealer log circulating on Telegram in June 2023. The file contained 35 records harvested from infected endpoints in Brazil, each holding an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the website where that password was in use. Once posted to Telegram, this data became accessible to any threat actor.
The Real Danger Here
With 35 plaintext credential pairs tied to specific websites, this log is ready to use the moment it is downloaded. An attacker does not need technical expertise. They can open each URL, enter the email and password, and gain access. If the victim's password unlocks their email account, an attacker can then reset passwords on every linked service, effectively taking over their entire digital life.
What Data Was Stolen
- Email Addresses
- Plaintext Passwords
- URLs (exact websites where each credential was active)
Long-Term Impact
Stealer log credentials circulate long after the initial upload. A file shared on Telegram in June 2023 may still be downloaded, resold, and used today. Victims often have no idea their passwords were stolen until they are locked out of an account or notice unauthorized activity. By that point, significant damage to finances, privacy, and identity may already have occurred.
How Malware Steals Credentials
Infostealer malware installs quietly on a victim's device and begins harvesting credentials from saved browser passwords, active login sessions, and autofill data. The malware runs in the background, undetectable by most users. It assembles everything into a structured log and transmits it to the attacker's server. The 270055_BR log was then posted to Telegram where subscribers could download and act on the data.
