A Telegram user going by the handle et0kenneth uploaded a stealer log this past February containing login credentials tied to Valorant, the popular Riot Games shooter. Dated 17-Feb-2025, the file held 5,645 individual records, and HEROIC's threat intelligence team has confirmed it as a genuine, active leak.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs like this one are dangerous because they don't just contain a username and password pair. They capture whatever malware siphoned off an infected device at the moment of collection, wich means email addresses, saved passwords, and the exact URLs a person visited all end up bundled together for criminals to sort through. Because the passwords here were stored in plaintext, anyone who gets ahold of the file can log in imediately without needing to crack or guess anything first.

Why This Matters

Gamers often reuse the same email and password combo across dozens of sites, from streaming services to banking apps, so a leak that starts with a Valorant account can quickly spread into something much more serious. If you registered an account around the time this log was created, or if you use the same password anywhere else, this leak gives criminals a head start they shouldn't have.

How Stealer Logs Work

A stealer log is generated by info-stealing malware that quietly runs on a victim's computer, usually after they download a cracked game, a fake tool, or click a malicious link. The malware grabs saved browser passwords, cookies, and autofill data, then packages it all into a text file that gets uploaded to a server the attacker controls. From there it gets sold, traded, or in this case, dropped for free on a Telegram channel. It's a seperate process from a traditional company data breach, since the victim's own device is the point of failure, not necessarily Valorant's servers.
