HEROIC discovered a stealer log known as USA Fresh Part 3 circulating on Telegram in March 2023. The dataset contains 803,542 records harvested from infected devices across the United States, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and associated URLs that reveal exactly which services were compromised.

Why Plaintext Passwords Are So Dangerous

Unlike hashed or encrypted passwords, the credentials in this leak are stored in plaintext, meaning they require no decryption to exploit. An attacker who obtains this data can immediately log into any account where the exposed password is still in use. There is no delay, no cracking step, and no technical barrier between the stolen data and full account access.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs of visited websites and services

The Threat of Credential Stuffing and Password Reuse

Most people reuse the same password across multiple websites. Attackers know this and use automated tools to test stolen credentials against hundreds of services simultaneously, a technique called credential stuffing. A single exposed password from this leak could unlock your email, banking, social media, and shopping accounts if the same password was used elsewhere.

What Are Stealer Logs?

Stealer logs are created by infostealer malware that silently infects a device and records everything the user types or stores in their browser. This includes saved passwords, autofill data, cookies, and browsing history. The malware then sends this data to the attacker, who compiles it into logs and distributes them on dark web forums and Telegram channels. The USA Fresh Part 3 dataset is one such collection targeting users in the United States.
