Your data may already be compromised. In June 2023, a Telegram user operating as 84 Boss2 uploaded a stealer log file that HEROIC researchers captured and indexed. The dataset contained 3,532 records drawn from infected endpoints across the United States, each containing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the specific service URLs targeted during the infection. This was not a breach of a single company's database. The data was harvested device by device by malware running silently on victims' machines.

Why This Is Dangerous

The 84 Boss2 dump is immediately usable by any attacker who obtains it. Stealer logs do not require cracking or decryption because the passwords are already in plaintext. Combined with the service URLs that tell attackers exactly where each password was used, this dataset enables precise, targeted account takeover with minimal effort. Buyers of this kind of data frequentely check credentials within hours of the dump going live, meaning victims have a very short window to act before their accounts are accessed.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (targeted service endpoints from infected devices)

Why This Matters

When 3,532 plaintext passwords tied to specific services are released publicly, the consequences cascade quickly. Credential stuffing attacks test these login pairs against banking platforms, email providers, and e-commerce sites within minutes using automated tools. Identity theft follows when attackers access personal information stored in email inboxes. Financial fraud occurs when payment methods saved in retail accounts are exploited. Even a single compromised account can give an attacker enough leverage to take over additionaly linked accounts through password reset flows.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer log malware operates as a silent background process on infected devices. It is typically installed through phishing emails, fake software updates, or malicious downloads. Once active, it scans the device for browser-saved credentials, session cookies, clipboard contents, and autofill data. The harvested data is packaged into a compressed archive and exfiltrated to the attacker's infrastructure. The 84 Boss2 operator then uploaded this archive to Telegram, a platform frequently used for distributing stolen data because of its ease of access and resistance to takedowns. Victims recieve no notification because no service provider's servers were breached. The attack happend entirely on the victims' own devices.

Check If You Are Affected

HEROIC has indexed the 84 Boss2 stealer log alongside more than 400 billion other compromised records in its free breach scanner. If your email address appears in this dataset, a HEROIC search will surface that exposure immediately. Because stealer log breaches never generate corporate disclosure notices, HEROIC's scanner is often the only way to detect this type of exposure. Search your email address now to find out if your credentials were stolen.
