In February 2023, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file titled "Corps 30.08," uploaded to a Telegram channel by an unidentified user. The file contained 7,302 records, each consisting of an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the login page the credentials were tied to.

Why the Corps 30.08 Leak Is Dangerous

Whatever the file's internal naming convention refers to, the practical risk is the same as with any stealer log: working login credentials taken from infected devices and packaged for distribution. With the passwords stored in plaintext, whoever downloads this file can begin testing the logins immediately.

What Was Exposed in the Corps 30.08 Log

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords tied to each account
  • URLs showing where each credential pair was used

Why This Matters

A file of 7,302 working email and password pairs gives attackers a solid base for credential stuffing attacks against banking, email, and shopping sites. Anyone whose password was reused across accounts is at risk of having more than just the account listed in this file compromised.

How Stealer Logs Work

This type of leak is produced by malware installed on individual computers rather than by breaching a single company's systems. The malware, often spread through cracked software or malicious downloads, scans the browser for saved passwords and autofill data before sending everything back to the attacker. The resulting file is then distributed through Telegram channels and dark web forums, which is where HEROIC's analysts found this one.
