In July 2023, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file shared on Telegram under the identifier ALPHACLOUDFREELogs2023-07-18X38M 1. The file contained 7,084 records extracted from infected devices, with each record containing an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the site where the credentials were harvested. The breach follows a pattern HEROIC sees regularly: malware quietly running on a device, siphoning off saved credentials, and delivering them to a threat actor who then publishes the results openly online.
Why Plaintext Passwords Make This Immediately Dangerous

The resulting logs are then sorted, packaged, and uploaded to public Telegram channels. This particular file was timestamped and labeled with the ALPHACLOUD identifier, a naming convention used by several Telegram-based credential marketplaces. Once posted, the data is available to anyone who joins the channel, with no vetting or payment required.
