On December 26, 2023, an anonymous Telegram user posted a stealer log file called "APRIL 21 - 3615 LOGS" that exposed 62,722 complete email and password combinations. The Danger: From One Email to Your Entire Digital Life

A compromised email address is a master key to account takeover. Once an attacker gains acces to your inbox, they can reset passwords on banking sites, cryptocurrency wallets, social media accounts, and cloud storage services without needing your original credentials. The 62,722 plaintext passwords in this dump eliminate any friction in the attack chain. A cybercriminal downloading this file at night can be draining your bank account by morning. Each of the 62,722 records represents a potential victim and a cascading chain of account compromises that spreads beyond email to every connected service.

What Information Was Exposed

  • Email addresses (62,722 total)
  • Plaintext passwords in clear text
  • Service URLs showing which platforms the passwords were used on

Why This Matters: Scale, Speed, and Underground Distribution

At nearly 63,000 records, this dump is attractive to serious criminal buyers and credential stuffing operations. Attackers run automated tools testing thousands of email-password pairs against banks, retailers, and payment processors every single hour. Success rates on stealer logs are often 5-15% on the first attempt, meaning 3,000-9,000 accounts from this dump alone could face immediate takeover. Plaintext passwords enable zero-delay exploitation. Underground forums and dark web marketplaces continue circulating dumps like this for years, so the risk doesn't vanish after a few weeks. Many records from this batch likely contain banking or financial service credentials, making direct monetary theft the primary goal.

How Infostealers Harvest Data at This Scale

A 62,722-record dump comes from thousands of infected computers, not just one. Infostealer malware spreads through phishing emails impersonating legitimate services, through cracked software bundled with hidden trojans, and through malicious browser extensions marketed as productivity tools. Each infected device silently harvests passwords from browsers and password managers, then sends the stolen files to a collection server operated by the malware author. Operators aggregate harvested data over weeks or months, package it into branded dumps like "APRIL 21 - 3615 LOGS," and sell them in underground forums or post them on Telegram channels to build reputation with buyer networks. Each seperate record in this dump represents an individuals computer that was compromised and completley looted before distribution.
