HEROIC analysts found a stealer log file shared on a public Telegram channel on May 20, 2025, carrying the BabaCloudLogs label. The file contained 6,543 records extracted from compromised endpoint devices. Each record listed an email address alongside a plaintext password and the URL of the service the victim had logged into. The log format and batch numbering are consistent with a recurring Telegram operation that distributes stolen credentials in volume to anyone willing to download them.

Why This Is Dangerous

No technical skill is needed to exploit this data. Every record is self-contained: service URL, login email, and working password, all in one line. An attacker can load this file into freely available credential-stuffing software and begin testing accounts within minuets of downloading it. Because the credentials target cloud services, a single successful login can expose entire file systems, shared inboxes, and internal business tools. Smaller record counts like this one are sometimes more dangerouse because they are targeted and more likely to contain high-value accounts.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (service login endpoints)

Why This Matters

Exposed credentials from stealer logs create a direct path to account takeover and broader identity harm. Attackers with this data can:

  • Attempt credential stuffing across popular services where the same password was reused
  • Take over accounts instantly since passwords are already in plaintext with no cracking required
  • Commit identity theft by gaining access to email accounts and pivoting to financial or government portals
  • Execute financial fraud using stored cards, account balances, or wire transfer systems
  • Resell the credentials on dark web marketplaces, so multiple criminals may exploit them over time

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs are produced by a type of malware that runs invisibly on a victim's computer. The infection usually begins with a deceptive download: a fake software update, a pirated application, or a malicious email attachment. Once active, the malware systematically harvests every password saved in your browser, every credential you type into a login form, and every active session token in your browser's storage. This data is organized into a log file and uploaded to the attacker's server, often within seconds of the theft. Operators of channels like BabaCloudLogs then sort these logs by category and share them freely on Telegram or sell them in dark web shops.
