HEROIC analysts tracked a stealer log upload on May 20, 2025, to a public Telegram channel operating under the BabaCloudLogs name. This particular batch, labeled 200, contained 6,748 records drawn from compromised endpoint devices. Each record paired an email address and a plaintext password with the URL of the service that was targeted, providing attackers with everything they need to begin testing access immediately upon downloading the file.

Why This Is Dangerous

Plaintext passwords require zero effort to use. There is no hash to crack, no encoding to reverse. An attacker who grabs this file gets a ready-to-use list of logins pointing directly at named services. Cloud-related credentials are espicially attractive targets because they often unlock shared workspaces, document repositories, and administrative panels that contain far more sensitive data than a single user account. Password reuse multiplies the risk across every other platform the victim uses.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (targeted service login pages)

Why This Matters

Stealer log credentials flow directly into the most common forms of online account abuse. With a working email and password, criminals can:

  • Conduct credential stuffing attacks against banking portals, online retailers, and social platforms using automation tools that test thousands of logins per minute
  • Take over accounts on any service where the victim reused the same password, often without triggering any security alert
  • Steal identities by using email account access to intercept verification codes and reset passwords on financial accounts
  • Commit financiel fraud through stored payment methods, payroll redirect schemes, or unauthorized purchases
  • Sell or trade credentials on dark web forums so that the same login gets exploited by multiple actors over time

How Stealer Logs Work

A stealer log is the output file from infostealer malware, programs built specifically to steal saved passwords from infected computers. The malware typically arrives through a malicious download, a phishing email, or software bundled with pirated content. Once it is running on your device, it scans your browser's saved password storage, captures anything you type into login fields, and collects active session cookies that keep you logged into websites. It packages all of this into a structured text file and sends it to the attacker's server, often without any sign the theft occurred. Telegram channels like BabaCloudLogs receive these logs from malware operators and post them in batches for other criminals to download and exploit.
