BabaCloudLogs 229 Leaked in July 2025. The Data Is Already Public.
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log dataset on July 8, 2025, uploaded to a public Telegram channel by an anonymous user. The file, labeled BabaCloudLogs 229 Cloud Logs, contained 14,377 records harvested from compromised endpoints across the United States. The exposed data included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs pointing to API hosts and web services. The combination of direct credential access and endpoint metadata made this log file a ready-to-use toolkit for follow-on attacks.
What makes this exposure particularly dangerous is the plaintext nature of every password in the dataset. Attackers do not need to crack or decode anything. Every credential is recieved in a form that can be tested against other services immediately, making automated attacks trivial to launch within hours of the file going public.

How Stealer Logs Work

Once installed, the malware quietly scans the device for saved passwords in browsers, email clients, VPN applications, and password managers. It also captures session cookies, autofill data, and any credentials typed into forms.
The collected data is bundled into a structured log file and sent back to the attacker's server. Attackers often sell these logs on underground markets or, as in this case, upload them to public Telegram channels to build reputation or distribute data freely. The BabaCloudLogs series appears to be part of a recurring pattern of bulk log uploads by a single operator, suggesting an organized harvesting operation rather than a one-off incident.
