In May 2022, Bluraymaesai, a Thai-language entertainment site selling Blu-ray discs, movies, TV series, and anime, suffered a database breach that exposed 679,813 user accounts. The incident is partcularly alarming because passwords were stored in plaintext, meaning attackers who obtained the database recieved every user's actual password with no cracking required whatsoever.
