The MaitreCloud Leak Could Unlock Your Email, Bank, and Social Accounts
HEROIC analysts flagged a significant stealer log dump posted on BreachForums on January 6, 2025, by a threat actor operating under the name "Maiitre." The dataset, labeled MaitreCloud 5M ULP, was part of a multi-day release campaign in which the same actor published separate installments on January 5, January 6, and January 7, 2025. This January 6 file contained approximately 5 million raw records, from which 1,631,418 unique email addresses were extracted, each paired with a plaintext password and an associated homepage URL. The plaintext exposure of passwords means no cracking tools are required. Anyone who downloaded this file could immediately attempt to log into accounts with the stolen credentials. Why the MaitreCloud Leak Can Unlock Multiple Accounts at Once
Plaintext passwords are the most dangerous form of leaked credential data.
