What HEROIC Analysts Discovered

In July 2023, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log archive on Telegram labeled Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 28.07.part006. This is one of multiple archive files from the Bugatti_Man campaign, uploaded by an anonymous Telegram user with access to large-scale stealer log data. The file contains 8,277 records, each including an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the service the victim was authenticated to when their device was compromised. The data was circulated through private Telegram channels shortly after upload.

Why This Is Dangerous

Every record in this file is a fully functional attack package. The email is the username. The password is in plaintext, ready to use. The URL tells the attacker exactly where to use it. Whoever obtains this file can begin testing logins within minutes on any platform listed in the dataset. Because many people reuse passwords across services, a single successful login often cascades into multiple account compromises. Corporate email accounts are among the highest-value targets since they can expose entire organizations to attack.

What Was Exposed

The following data types were confirmed in the Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 28.07.part006 breach:

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (sites the victim was logged into at time of infection)

Why This Matters

Credential stuffing attacks powered by plaintext stealer log data succeed at rates far higher than attacks using hashed or old passwords. When attackers know which specific sites a person used, they skip the guesswork and go directly to the highest-value accounts. Victims face risks that include unauthorized access to financial accounts, identity theft, extortion using private data found in email or cloud storage, and the use of their accounts to launch further attacks. Changing the exposed password across every account it was used on is the only way to limit the damage.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Info-stealer malware like Redline, Raccoon, and Vidar is the source of data like the Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man files. These programs are installed on victims' devices without their knowledge, usually through phishing messages, fake software downloads, or trojanized browser add-ons. Once active, the malware silently extracts every saved password from the browser, captures active session cookies, and records visited URLs. It bundles this information into a log file and sends it to the attacker's server. The attacker may then sell the logs on dark web forums or distribute them freely on Telegram, as happened in this case.
