HEROIC analysts discovered a stealer log file circulating on Telegram in August 2023 that exposed 9,500 records belonging to real people and organizations. The file, uploaded by an anonymous Telegram user under the name Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 26.08.part019, contained a mix of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs pointing to endpoints and API hosts. Stealer logs like this one are harvested automaticaly from infected computers and bundled into files that get traded or dumped across messaging platforms and dark web forums.

Why This Is Dangerous

The moment a stealer log like this one lands in the wrong hands, every credential inside it becomes a potential key to someone's account. Attackers don't sit around manually trying passwords. They run automated tools that test stolen email and password pairs against dozens of websites at once. If you use the same password in more than one place, a single infected device can unlock severel of your accounts in minutes. The fact that these passwords are in plaintext makes it even worse, because there is no cracking required at all.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (including API endpoints and internal host addresses)

Why This Matters

Exposed credentials from stealer logs feed directly into some of the most common attack chains seen today. Credential stuffing attacks use your email and password combination to try to log into banking apps, email providers, shopping accounts, and anywhere else you might have an account. Once an attacker is inside, they can drain loyalty points, initiate transfers, lock you out, or sell access to your account on underground markets. The inclusion of URLs and API endpoints in this dump is also worth noting, because those details can expose business systems, developer tools, and internal infrastructure to further targeting. Identity theft and fraud often follow when personal and login data combine.

How Stealer Logs Work

A stealer log starts with malware. Someone, usually without knowing it, runs a file or clicks a link that installs an infostealer on their computer. These programs quietly scan the infected machine for saved browser passwords, autofill data, session cookies, and any credentials stored locally. The malware sends that data back to whoever controls it. Those operators then package the stolen records into log files and sell or share them through Telegram channels, dark web markets, and hacker forums. By the time a log like this one becomes public, the data inside it has usually already been used or sold multiple times. The victims often never find out.
