In May 2023, security analysts identified a stealer log file called Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 17.05.part035, uploaded to Telegram by an anonymous user. The file contained 14,187 records pulled directly from infected devices, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the exact URLs where those credentials were used. This is ready-to-use attack fuel, not raw data that needs further processing.

Why This Is Dangerous

When an attacker has your email, your plaintext password, and the website where you use that password, there is nothing left to figure out. They can log in immediatley. Unlike breaches where passwords are hashed and must be cracked over time, stealer log data is captured in the clear at the moment of theft. That means every record in this file is instantly usable. Criminals who buy or download this log can begin testing accounts the same day it is shared.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (the specific websites tied to each credential)

Why This Matters

The combination of email, password, and URL makes this dataset particularly dangerous for credential stuffing attacks. Criminals load these combinations into automated tools and test them across hundreds of sites simultaneously. Even if you only used a password on one site, if that site appears in this log, every other account where you reused that same password is now at risk. Bank accounts, email inboxes, and online shopping profiles are all common targets. Victims often do not realise what happened until they are locked out or see unauthorised activity.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs are created by infostealer malware, a category of malicious software designed to harvest credentials from infected machines. The malware typically arrives through phishing emails, cracked software downloads, or malicious browser extensions. Once running on a device, it extracts saved passwords from browsers like Chrome and Firefox, reads autofill data, captures session cookies, and records the URLs associated with each set of credentials. The resulting file is then sent back to the attacker and often shared or sold across dark web forums and Telegram channels. The infected user has no warning and no notifcation that their data was stolen.
