The Bugatti_Cloud Leak: 27,602 Passwords Exposed. Yours Might Be One.
In May 2023, a threat actor posted the Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 17.05.part052 stealer log to Telegram. Twenty-seven thousand, six hundred and two people had their plaintext passwords, email adresses, and session URLs stolen by infostealer malware and handed directly to cybercriminals. If your device was infected and your credentials were captured, they were in criminal hands before you finished your morning coffee. That is how fast stealer log campaigns move -- and that is why this matters to you right now.
Why This Is Dangerous
There is no protective layer between the attacker and your account when a stealer log is involved. No hashed password to crack, no encrypted database to decode. The malware grabbed your password as you typed it -- or pulled it straight from your browser's saved credentials -- and wrote it down in plaintext. The Bugatti_Cloud part052 archive gave attackers 27,602 of these ready-to-use credential pairs. Every single one is a key to someone's account. One of those keys might open yours. Attackers do not hesitate -- credential stuffing tools can test thousands of logins per minute across banking sites, email providers, and corporate systems, working through the entire log in hours.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses
- Plaintext Passwords
- URLs (the exact sites where credentials were used)
Why This Matters
If you reuse passwords -- and statisticaly, most people do -- a single credential pair from this log can unlock multiple accounts. Your email. Your bank. Your work VPN. Attackers know this, and they exploit it systematically. The URLs in this log are especialy useful to criminals because they reveal exactly which platforms each victim uses, allowing targeted follow-up attacks rather than scattershot guessing. An attacker who knows your email, your password, and the sites you visit can cause significant damage very quickly. The only question is whether they have already started.
How Stealer Logs Work
The Bugatti_Cloud campaign used infostealer malware -- software that hides on your device and silently harvests credentials as you use them. It typically arrives through a phishing email, a pirated software download, or a malicious browser extension. Once installed, it runs invisibly in the background, capturing browser-saved passwords, recording what you type on login pages, stealing session cookies, and logging the URLs you visit. It then packages all of this into a compressed log file and sends it to the attacker. The Bugatti_Cloud operator released this data in a numbered multi-part series on Telegram -- part052 is one installment among many, meaning the total number of victims across the full campaign is far larger than 27,602.
