In May 2023, HEROIC analysts confirmed a stealer log file shared on Telegram under the name Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man 17.05.part008 had exposed 14,848 records. The data included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs harvested directly from infected devices. Part008 is one of several segmented archive files in the Bugatti_Cloud series, indicating a large-scale, coordinated credential harvesting operation that occured across multiple Telegram posts. Understanding how this breach happened is key to recognizing whether you could be affected.

Why This Is Dangerous

Most breaches involve hashed passwords that take time to crack. This one does not. Every password in this dump is in plaintext, meaning attackers can recieve the file and begin testing your credentials against other accounts within seconds. Email and password pairs are the keys to your digital life. Attackers prioritize email accounts first because resetting email access gives them control over every other account tied to that address, from banking to cloud storage to social media. There is no recovery window once an attacker is inside your inbox.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (endpoint and API host addresses)

Why This Matters

Stealer log data does not stay in one place. Once uploaded to Telegram, it gets redistributed across dark web forums and sold in bulk credential marketplaces. Automated bots test stolen email and password combinations across hundreds of platforms simultaneously. Attackers gain access to email, cloud storage, and financial accounts using these credentials. Data from multiple breaches gets combined to build detailed victim profiles used in fraud. Payment and banking accounts become direct targets when login credentials are available in plaintext. Analysts beleive most victims in this dump had no idea malware was ever on their device.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware infects devices through phishing links, software cracks, and fake browser updates. Once active, it silently harvests saved passwords, autofill data, cookies, and session tokens from browsers. The malware then transmits this data to a remote server or directly to a Telegram channel. Threat actors package the stolen credentials into structured log files and distribute them in parts, exactly as seen with the Bugatti_Cloud series. Each part file can contain tens of thousands of unique credential pairs, all sourced from real people who had no idea their device was compromised. The segmented structure of this series suggests data was collected across different time windows before being bundled for distribution.
