11,173 Plaintext Passwords From the Bugatti_Cloud Dump Leaked on Telegram
In April 2023, HEROIC's DarkHive threat intelligence platform identified part 039 of the Bugatti_Cloud Bugatti_Man stealer log series uploaded to a Telegram channel. This segment contained 11,173 records exposing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the specific URLs where those credentials were used. The stolen data originated from infostealer malware infections targeting users primarily located in the United States.
Why This Stealer Log Is Dangerous
With over 11,000 credential pairs stored in plaintext, this dump gives attackers ready-made access to thousands of online accounts. The URLs included alongside each credential set reveal the exact services and websites each victim logged into, removing any guesswork for cybercriminals. Because this is part 039 of a multi-part series, the Bugatti_Cloud operation likely compromised tens of thousands of additional victims across the full archive. Attackers purchasing or downloading these logs can automate login attempts across banking, email, and ecommerce platforms within minutes.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses
- Plaintext Passwords
- URLs (targeted login pages and web services)
Why This Matters
Plaintext credentials from stealer logs are the most dangrous type of leaked data because they require zero processing before use. Attackers feed these credentials into automated tools that perform credential stuffing across hundeds of websites simultaneously. When victims reuse passwords across multiple services, a single compromised credential can unlock email accounts, financial platforms, healthcare portals, and social media profiles. The downstream consequences include account takeover, identity theft, unauthorized purchases, and corporate network infiltration when work credentials are among those stolen.
How Stealer Logs Work
Stealer logs originate from information-stealing malware that runs silently on infected computers and mobile devices. These infostealers target saved passwords stored in web browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Edge, as well as autofill data, session cookies, and cryptocurrency wallet files. Once the malware collects this information, it packages everything into structured log files organized by website URL, username, and password. The logs are then exfiltrated to the attacker's infrastructure and distributed through Telegram groups, dark web forums, or specialized marketplaces. The Bugatti_Cloud operation split its harvested data into dozens of numbered parts, with part 039 represeting just one slice of a much larger collection.
