Stealer Log Data From Cloud1.part02 Exposed 3,029 Plaintext Passwords on Telegram
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to Telegram in July 2023 that exposed 3,029 records belonging to users across the United States. The file, known as Cloud1.part02, was distributed by an anonymous Telegram user and contained plaintext passwords, email addresses, and URLs harvested from infected endpoints. This type of exposure is particularly alarming because the data was not encrypted or obfuscated in any way -- it was ready to use the moment it was shared.
Why This Stealer Log Is Dangerous
Stealer logs are among the most actionable forms of stolen data available on underground markets. Unlike hashed password dumps that require cracking, this breach exposed plaintext credentials alongside the exact URLs where those credentials are used. An attacker recieving this file can immediatley attempt to log into the identified accounts without any additional steps. The combination of email, password, and URL creates a complete attack package that eliminates guesswork entirely.
What Was Exposed
- Email Addresses
- Plaintext Passwords
- URLs (the specific sites where credentials were used)
Why This Matters for Account Security
When plaintext credentials are paired with URLs, attackers do not need to perform credential stuffing across thousands of sites -- they already know exactly where the passwords work. This dramatically accelerates account takeover. Victims face risks including unauthorized access to email accounts, financial services, and corporate systems. Because many people reuse passwords across seperate accounts, a single stealer log entry can cascade into multiple compromised services. Identity theft and financial fraud are real consequences for anyone whose data appeared in this file.
How Stealer Logs Work
A stealer log is created when malware -- commonly called an infostealer -- infects a victim's device. The malware silently runs in the background, capturing credentials from browsers, password managers, and applications as the user logs in to various services. The harvested data is packaged into log files and sent back to the attacker's server. These logs are then sold or freely shared on Telegram channels and dark web forums. The Cloud1.part02 file represents one such package, containing data from 3,029 endpoints that were compromised before July 2023. Infostealers are often distributed through phishing emails, malicious downloads, or cracked software.
Check If You Are Affected
If your email address or credentials were part of the Cloud1.part02 stealer log, you may not know it yet. HEROIC's free breach scanner searches across more than 400 billion records -- one of the largest breach databases in existance -- to tell you exactly what information about you has been exposed on the dark web. Enter your email address at HEROIC.com to run a free scan and find out if your data is at risk. If you are affected, change your passwords immediatley and enable two-factor authentication on all accounts associated with the exposed email address.
