In July 2025, a Telegram user operating under the name Cloudy Logs Team published a stealer log package containing 30,554 records harvested from infected endpoints. HEROIC analysts identified the dataset as part of a coordinated infostealer distribution campaign. The exposed data includes email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs -- giving any downloader a direct map to compromised accounts across dozens of services. Understanding how this operation worked helps explain why 30,554 people are now at risk without ever knowing they were targeted.

Why This Is Dangerous

Unlike breached databases where passwords are hashed and require cracking, stealer log files contain credentials exactly as they were typed. Attackers who receive this file do not need special tools or technical skills. They can open it, pick an email address, try the password on Gmail, PayPal, or a banking site, and frequently get in on the first attempt. The URL data makes it even worse -- it tells attackers exactly which services the victim was actively using, removing any guesswork about where to strike first. With 30,554 records now in circulation, that window is open right now.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (active service endpoints logged from infected devices)

Why This Matters

A dataset of 30,554 records is not abstract -- each entry represents a real person whose device was silently compromised. Here is what becomes possible once this data circulates:

  • Credential stuffing: Automated bots test each email and password pair against hundreds of sites simultaniously
  • Account takeover: Attackers gain access to email accounts and use password reset flows to take over linked services
  • Identity theft: Personal details gleaned from email inboxes and account profiles are used to impersonate victims
  • Financial fraud: Payment platforms, e-commerce accounts, and banking portals accessed from the infected device are seperate targets attackers pursue in parallel

How Stealer Log Malware Works

Infostealer malware typically arrives via phishing emails, cracked software downloads, or malicious browser extensions. Once it runs on a device, it silently scans for saved credentials in browsers, password managers, and desktop applications. It captures everything -- usernames, passwords, session tokens, and the URLs those credentials belong to -- and bundles it into a structured log file. That file is then sent to the attacker's server. Groups like Cloudy Logs Team aggregate these logs from multiple sources and distribute them through Telegram channels, sometimes for profit, sometimes freely. The victims rarely know their data has been collected until accounts start failing to log in.
