In June 2023, a Telegram user uploaded a stealer log file containing 11,663 records from CRONCLOUDFREE -- a cloud automation and scheduling service. While the record count is smaller than some stealer log disclosures, the type of data exposed makes this breach particularly dangerous. Plaintext passwords, email addresses, and URLs create a ready-made attack package. And for anyone who reuses passwords across accounts, a single credential stolen from a cloud service can become a key that unlocks email, banking, social media, and more. That chain reaction is excatly what attackers are counting on.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs containing plaintext passwords are weaponized immediately -- no cracking required. Attackers take the exposed email-password combinations from CRONCLOUDFREE and systematically test them against high-value targets: Gmail, Outlook, Chase, PayPal, AWS, and hundreds of other platforms. The URLs included in this breach narrow the guesswork even further, giving attackers a verified list of services each victim was using. One working credential can trigger account takeovers across an entire digital footprint in a matter of minuets.

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (site and service endpoints)

Why This Matters

The chained risk from a stealer log breach like CRONCLOUDFREE is significant. Password reuse rates remain high, meaning a credential stolen from a cloud scheduling app can open doors to far more sensitive accounts. If an attacker gains access to a victim's email account, they can trigger password resets on banking and social media platforms, effectively taking over the entire digital identity. The CRONCLOUDFREE dataset has had years to circulate across Telegram channels and dark web markets since its June 2023 exposure, meaning the risk has not diminished -- it has grown as more actors have obtained and used the data.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Stealer logs originate from infostealer malware deployed through phishing campaigns, malicious downloads, or compromised browser extensions. The malware silently harvests credentials, cookies, session tokens, and autofill data from infected devices and sends them to an attacker-controlled server. The resulting logs are bundled and distributed via Telegram. Cloud service users are common targets because they often store credentials for multiple downstream services in their browsers. The CRONCLOUDFREE dataset follows this pattern, collected from compromised devices and uploaded to Telegram in June 2023.

Check If You Are Affected
