In March 2024, HEROIC analysts found a stealer log package named CRYPTON_LOGS 2.0 325PCS circulating after being uploaded by a Telegram user. The file held 6,543 records, roughly the same number of people who could fill a sold out mid-sized arena. Each record paired an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the site it belonged to, all lifted straight from infected devices.

Why This Is Dangerous

Because the passwords sit in plaintext, there is no cracking step for an attacker to worry about. The login is ready to use the moment someone opens the file. Pair that with the exact web address tied to each credential, and a criminal has a shortcut straight into a victim's inbox, socials, or shoping accounts.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs showing which sites the credentials unlock

Why This Matters

Leaks like CRYPTON_LOGS 2.0 are a favorite tool for credential stuffing, where attackers try the same email and password combo across dozens of other platforms. If a victim reused a password, one leaked login can snowball into full account takeover, identity theft, or direct financial fraud.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Stealer log malware infects a device through fake software, cracked game downloads, or malicious email attachments. Once running, it quietly pulls saved passwords and autofill data straight out of the victim's browser, then packages everything into a log file. These logs are commonly traded in Telegram groups, exactly where CRYPTON_LOGS 2.0 was found for sale or free distribution.
