HEROIC analysts identified the CRYPTON_LOGS 2.0 249PCS dataset when it surfaced on a public Telegram channel in April 2024. The log file contained 4,767 records harvested from compromised endpoints by infostealer malware. Each record included raw email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of targeted services. Unlike breaches that expose hashed credentials, this leak gave threat actors immediate, ready-to-use login data with zero additional processing required.


Why This Stealer Log Is Especially Dangerous

Most credential leaks require attackers to crack hashed passwords before they can be used. CRYPTON_LOGS 2.0 skipped that step entirely. Every password in this dataset was captured in plaintext by the infostealer malware before any encryption could be applied. That means the moment this file was uploaded to Telegram, every recieve-and-use cycle for credential stuffing attacks began instantly. Attackers do not need special tools or computing power to exploit this data.

The seperate stages of infection, collection, and distribution make these attacks difficult to detect until the data is already circulating.
