What Happened in the CRYPTON_LOGS 3 Leak

On February 21, 2023, a Telegram user uploaded a stealer log archive labeled CRYPTON_LOGS 3, the third installment in the CRYPTON_LOGS series. The dump contained 3,075 records harvested from infostealer-infected endpoints and was circulated on a public Telegram channel commonly used for trading credential sets. Because the file is tagged as volume 3, it sits alongside earlier CRYPTON_LOGS uploads (volume 1 and volume 2) and should be treated as part of an ongoing collection rather than a one-off dump.

Data Exposed in the Stealer Log

  • 3,075 email addresses
  • 3,075 plaintext passwords (no hashing or salting)
  • Associated login URLs identifying the targeted services

Every record pairs an email with a working plaintext password and the exact site it was used on, making this dataset an immediate credential-stuffing resource rather than a hash file that first needs cracking.

How the Breach Happened

Stealer logs are produced by infostealer malware families such as RedLine, Raccoon, Vidar, and Lumma. The malware harvests browser-saved credentials, session cookies, autofill data, and crypto wallet files from infected Windows endpoints and packages the results into per-victim folders. Operators then sell or leak those packages through Telegram channels, where CRYPTON_LOGS 3 was published.

Why This Breach Matters

Plaintext passwords paired with the original login URL let attackers automate account takeover on the exact services victims were logged into. Any user whose machine was infected may also have had banking, email, corporate SSO, or crypto-wallet credentials taken during the same session, even if those sites are not named in the CRYPTON_LOGS 3 index.

What You Should Do Now

  • Rotate passwords for any account shared with browser-saved credentials on a potentially infected device.
  • Run a full endpoint scan with an up-to-date anti-malware product to remove residual infostealer components.
  • Enable multi-factor authentication on email, financial, and SSO accounts.
  • Use a password manager to replace reused passwords with unique values per site.
