The CuckooLogs Stealer Log Put 6,877 Stolen Logins Online in June
HEROIC analysts found a stealer log titled CuckooLogsPublic, uploaded to a Telegram channel by a user going by LOGSYNC. The file is dated June 13, 2025, and contains 6,877 records, each made up of an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the account those credentials open.
Why the CuckooLogs Leak Is Dangerous
Every password in this file is stored in plaintext, meaning it can be read and reused immediately by anyone who opens the file. There is no encryption to break through and no guessing involved, just an email, a password, and the exact site it works on, all sitting together in one record.
What the CuckooLogsPublic File Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs of the sites those passwords unlock
Why This Matters
Even at under 7,000 records, this kind of leak carries real weight because of how people reuse passwords. Attackers routinely take small, fresh logs like this one and run them through credential stuffing tools that try each login against major banks, email providers, and retailers. A single reused password can turn into an account takeover, and from there, identity theft or financial fraud become possible.
How a Stealer Log Like This Gets Made
Files like CuckooLogsPublic are the output of infostealer malware, not the result of a company database being hacked. The malware infects a device, often through a pirated program, a fake software update, or a malicious link, then quietly copies saved passwords and browser session data. The person distributing the log, in this case someone using the name LOGSYNC, packages that stolen data and uploads it to a Telegram channel where anyone can grab it.
