HEROIC's DarkHive system discovered the DAISY CLOUD stealer log breach, exposing 6,201 records on January 13, 2024. The log contained email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs harvested from infected U.S. endpoints by infostealer malware and distributed via the DAISY CLOUD [NEW] Telegram channel.

Why This Is Dangerous

Passwords captured by infostealer malware are stored and transmitted in plaintext, meaning every credential in this dataset is ready for immediate use in account takeover attacks without any intermediate processing. The URL data in this log tells attackers exactly which services the 6,201 affected users had active sessions or saved credentials for, dramatically increasing the efficiency of targeted attacks compared to blind credential stuffing campaigns.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs and API host references from infected browser sessions

Why This Matters

The DAISY CLOUD channel maintained a pattern of daily credential releases throughout January 2024, with this batch released on the 13th as part of the ongoing operation. Identity theft risk from this breach is real and multi-dimensional: attackers who access an email account can reset passwords on banking, shopping, and workplace systems, compounding the impact of a single stolen credential into access across a victim's entire digital life. Older logins that were never changed remain vulnerable indefinitely once they enter Telegram circulation.

How Stealer Logs Work

Infostealer malware installs on devices via phishing, malicious downloads, or compromised software packages. Once running, it monitors browser activity and extracts saved passwords, session tokens, and the URLs of services users access. This data is packaged into structured log files and sent to attackers who then distribute them on Telegram. Subscribers to these channels use the data for credential stuffing, account takeover, or identity fraud. The automated nature of these attacks means all 6,201 records can be tested across hundreds of platforms within hours of the log being acquired.
