HEROIC's DarkHive intelligence system discovered the DAISY CLOUD stealer log breach, exposing 10,815 records on January 21, 2024. The dataset contained email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs harvested from compromised devices belonging to United States users through infostealer malware.

Why This Is Dangerous

Attackers who obtain this dataset can immediately run credential stuffing attacks against banking platforms, email providers, and corporate systems without any additional effort, since the passwords are already in plaintext. The URLs provide direct attack targets, mapping each stolen credential to a specific web application. Victims with compromised accounts face unauthorized transactions, data theft, and loss of access to important services within hours of the log being distributed online.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs

Why This Matters

Account takeover from stealer log credentials creates a cascade of harm for victims. Attackers who gain access to a primary email account can reset passwords on every connected service, including banking, cloud storage, and workplace systems. People who reuse thier passwords are especially at risk, since a single stolen credential gives attackers access to dozens of accounts simultaneously. Most victims do not realize their data has been compromised until fraudulent transactions or account lockouts occur weeks or months later.

How Stealer Log Works

Infostealer malware gets onto victim computers through phishing emails containing malicious attachments, fake software installers downloaded from unofficial sites, and compromised browser extensions. After installation, the malware operates silently in the background, extracting saved passwords, cookies, and browsing history from web browsers. The collected data gets sent to attacker servers and packaged into log files. DAISY CLOUD distributed these logs on Telegram, part of a pattern of daily releases that ran throughout January 2024 and targeted American users accross many different platforms and services.
