Small in size but still worth flagging: a stealer log branded "hotmail_20250627_043224" surfaced on Telegram, tied to accounts leaked back in June 2025. Our dark web monitoring picked up 1,536 records inside the file, a modest number compared to some of the larger dumps we track, but every single record represents someone's real login.

Why This Is Dangerous

Don't let the smaller record count fool you, size isn't what makes a leak dangerous. This file is loaded with plaintext passwords, meaning whoever picks it up doesn't have to crack or guess anything, they can just try logging in. A focused Hotmail-themed dump like this one can also make it easier for attackers to target a specific group of email users all at once.

What Was Exposed

Analysis of the file confirmed 1,536 total records containing:

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs showing where each login was used

That combination gives an attacker everything needed to log in right away, no extra research needed on thier part.

Why This Matters

If you had a Hotmail or similar email account active around June 2025, its worth paying attention here. Alot of people don't change their passwords for years at a time, so even a leak this size can still be dangerous a full year later if the password was never updated. Attackers know this too, and they will test old leaked credentials until they find one that still works.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs come from malware quietly installed on a victim's computer, often bundled inside pirated software or a fake download. Once running, it pulls saved logins straight out of the browser and ships them off to the attacker behind the scenes. Files are usually labeled by date and source, exactly like this one, before being uploaded to Telegram channels where anyone can receive a copy.

Check If You Are Affected

Even smaller leaks like this one are worth checking. HEROIC's free breach scanner searches more than 400 billion leaked records and can tell you definately if your email address turns up in this dump or any other dark web leak.
