In July 2026, a stealer log labeled "EMALIST 37K Spotify Valid" appeared on a Telegram channel, containing 36,013 records of Spotify login credentials harvested from malware-infected devices. This is not a breach of Spotify's own systems. The credentials were stolen directly from users' computers by infostealer malware and then bundled into a "validated" combo list, meaning the passwords were checked and confirmed to still work before being shared.

What Attackers Can Do With a Validated Spotify Combo List

Because this list is marked "valid," attackers do not need to guess which credentials still work. They can log directly into 36,013 Spotify accounts, lock out the real owners, drain saved gift card balances or subscription benefits, or resell working accounts on underground markets. Worse, attackers routinely test the same email and password against banking, email, and shopping sites, since most people reuse passwords across accounts.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Associated URLs (the login pages tied to each credential)

Why This Matters

A stolen streaming password might sound low stakes, but it rarely stays contained to one account. Attackers use tools that automatically test leaked credentials across hundreds of other websites, a technique called credential stuffing. If your Spotify password matches the one on your email, bank, or work accounts, this leak puts all of them at risk of account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud.

How Infostealer Malware Builds Lists Like This

Infostealer malware infects a device through fake downloads, cracked software, or phishing links, then quietly copies every saved password, autofill entry, and browser cookie it can find. Criminals collect these logs from thousands of infected machines, then filter and "validate" the credentials by testing them against real login pages before packaging the confirmed working ones, exactly like this 36,013-record Spotify list, for sale or free distribution on Telegram.
