In June 2024, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file named "EuropeClud" uploaded to a Telegram channel by an anonymous user. The file contained 2,671 records made up of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs of the sites those credentials unlock.

Why the EuropeClud Leak Is Dangerous

Unlike a breach of a single company's database, a stealer log is pulled directly off an infected computer. Malware running on the victim's machine reads every password saved in the browser and pairs it with the exact site it belongs to, so whoever has this file can log straight into those accounts without cracking or guessing anything.

What Was Exposed in the EuropeClud File

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • The URLs of the websites those logins belong to

Why This Matters

Plaintext passwords matched to working login pages are ready to use the moment someone downloads this file. Anyone whose credentials appear here is at immediate risk of having an email, shopping, or social account taken over, especially if that password is reused on other sites.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer malware typically spreads through cracked software, fake updates, or malicious downloads. Once installed, it silently copies saved passwords and autofill data from the victim's browser and sends the haul back to whoever controls the malware. That data is then packaged into files like "EuropeClud" and shared or sold on Telegram, which is how this one surfaced.
