HEROIC's research team traced a stealer log labeled "Everlasting_Cloud_2" back to a Telegram upload in June 2026. Inside were 4,804 records, each one linking a website URL to the plaintext email and password an infected device had stored for it. The file itself is small compared to some breaches, but the consequences for the people inside it are just as real.

Why This Is Dangerous

When a password is stored in plaintext, there is nothing standing between the attacker and the account. No hashing to break, no encryption to bypass. Whoever holds this file can try each email and password combination on the listed site immediately, and if it works, they own that account from that moment forward.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • Website URLs tied to each login

Why This Matters

The real cost of this leak depends on what happens next. If any of the 4,804 people reused their password on a bank, email, or shopping account, the consequences can escalate quickly, from credential stuffing attempts to full account takeover, identity theft, and drained bank accounts. A small leak can still trigger a very large personal loss.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer malware infects a computer through a malicious download, often disguised as free software or a game mod. Once active, it copies saved passwords, session cookies, and autofill data straight from the browser, then quietly sends everything to the attacker's server. The stolen data is compiled into a log file and traded or leaked on Telegram, exactly the kind of channel where this file was found.

Check If You Are Affected

Understanding the real cost of a breach starts with knowing whether you were exposed. HEROIC's free breach scanner checks your email against a database of over 400 billion leaked records, so you can act before the consequences catch up with you.
