HEROIC Analysts Find 10,574 freemail.com Passwords Leaked
HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log tied to freemail.com in June 2026, uploaded to Telegram by a threat actor. Researchers found 10,574 records inside the file, made up of email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs those credentials were used on.
Why This freemail.com Stealer Log Is Dangerous
Analysts flagged this log as immediately usable because the passwords are stored in plaintext and lined up directly with the exact web address each one opens. That means an attacker does not need to crack or decode anything, they can take the email, password, and URL together and attempt to log in right away.
What Was Exposed
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords
- URLs linked to each set of credentials
Why This Matters
Because each password is paired with the login page it unlocks, researchers note that attackers can move straight to account takeover on these 10,574 accounts. If any of the exposed passwords were reused on other services, such as email, banking, or shopping accounts, credential stuffing tools let attackers test the same password across many unrelated sites, spreading the impact well past this one log.
How Stealer Logs Work
Stealer logs are created by malware that infects a device and quietly copies saved browser passwords, autofill entries, and the web addresses they are linked to, then sends everything back to the attacker. Because the theft happens on the victim's own computer rather than through a hacked company server, the credentials inside are often still active and unchanged when analysts find them circulating on Telegram.
