195 Plaintext Passwords From FreeOLDCloud Just Surfaced on Telegram
HEROIC analysts have confirmed a stealer log exposure originating from a file called FreeOLDCloud, shared publicly by an anonymous Telegram user in September 2023. The file contained 195 records, each including an email address, a plaintext password, and a URL pointing to the system or service where the credentials were harvested. Though the record count is relatively small, the nature of the data makes it disproportionately dangerous.
Why Plaintext Passwords Are a Serious Threat
Most breaches expose hashed passwords, which require extra work to crack. This leak is different. Every password in the FreeOLDCloud file is stored in plaintext, meaning anyone who downloads the file can read every credential immediately, with no decryption required. There is no barrier between the attacker and full account access.
Because people tend to reuse passwords across multiple services, a single exposed credential can unlock email accounts, banking portals, shopping sites, and workplace tools all at once. The URLs included in this file make it even easier for attackers, since they point directly to the login pages where these credentials are meant to be used.

These log files are then traded or sold on dark web forums and Telegram channels. The FreeOLDCloud file is one such log, shared freely by a Telegram user, which means it was accessable to anyone in that channel at no cost. That broad distribution significantly increases the risk for anyone whose credentials appear in it.
