Search Your Email: GODELESS CLOUD Exposed 10,491 Accounts on Telegram
HEROIC researchers identified this GODELESS CLOUD stealer log on July 21, 2023, when a Telegram user uploaded it to a public channel. The file contains 10,491 records collected by malware running on infected devices, with each record including an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL of the website those credentials were used on. This is one of several GODELESS CLOUD batches that surfaced on Telegram in July 2023, each carrying a separate collection of harvested credentials.
Why This Leak Is Dangerous
Plaintext passwords require no cracking tools and no technical skill to exploit. A criminal who downloads this file gets working login credentials for real websites, paired with the email address to match. Because the associated URLs are also included, attackers know exactly which site each password was used on, allowing them to skip the guesswork and go straight to attempting logins on those services.
What Was Exposed in the GODELESS CLOUD Leak
- Email addresses
- Plaintext passwords (unencrypted, immediately usable)
- URLs showing which websites each credential was tied to
Why This Matters to Real People
Most people use the same password on more than one site. Once a criminal confirms a password works on one account, they will automaticaly test it everywhere else. This process, known as credential stuffing, frequently succeeds and can give an attacker access to your email, bank account, social media profiles, and any other service where you reused the same login. Victims often do not realize thier accounts have been compromised until money is missing or they are locked out.
How Stealer Logs Work
Infostealer malware is designed to operate silently in the background of an infected device. It typically arrives through phishing emails, fake software installers, or pirated games. Once running, it records passwords typed into login forms, reads credentials saved in browsers, and logs the addresses of websites visited. All of that is bundled into a structured log file and sent back to the attacker. Those log files then circulate on platforms like Telegram, where they are downloaded by other criminals looking for usable credentials.
