In November 2023, HEROIC dark web analysts monitoring Telegram distribution channels flagged a stealer log file targeting GODELESS CLOUD, a cloud service provider. The file contained 9,068 records including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and API endpoint URLs, all harvested from infected devices by malware and then packaged into a structured log file. HEROIC first detected this dataset on November 8, 2023, shortly after it appeared in underground Telegram channels where cybercriminals trade and distribute stolen credential data.

Why This Is Dangerous

The GODELESS CLOUD stealer log stands out because of its targeting precision. Rather than a broad credential sweep, the dataset consistently references the godless.cloud domain across exposed URLs, indicating a focused campaign against this specific cloud provider and its users. Plaintext passwords in a stealer log require zero additional effort from attackers, who can begin exploiting them immediatley. The combination of user credentials and API endpoint information creates a dual threat: attackers can compromise individual accounts and probe the cloud platform's infrastructure directly, bypassing standard authentication layers.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • API endpoint URLs
  • Cloud service host identifiers

Why This Matters

Cloud service providers are increasingly targeted by stealer malware campaigns because a single compromised account can yield access to sensitive business data, hosted applications, and downstream connected services. The GODELESS CLOUD dump demonstrates how even smaller or specialized cloud providers are not immune to these attacks. The occured exposure of API endpoint data alongside credentials gives attackers a roadmap to the platform's infrastructure, potentially enabling automated exploitation at scale. Credential reuse across other services extends the risk well beyond GODELESS CLOUD itself.

How Stealer Logs Work

Stealer logs originate from malware installed on a victim's device, typically delivered via phishing emails, cracked software, or malicious browser extensions. Once active, the malware silently harvests saved passwords, session cookies, stored credentials, and system endpoint data. Everything is packaged into a structured log file and sent to the attacker's server. The attacker then lists the log for sale or free download on Telegram channels and dark web markets. Buyers use the credentials for account takeovers, sell access to compromised cloud environments, or use the data for further targeted intrusions. Victims rarely discover the breach until their accounts are taken over or their data surfaces in a public database.
