In August 2023, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file uploaded to Telegram by an anonymous user operating under the name GODELESS CLOUD. The file exposed 4,672 records containing email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs tied to compromised endpoints and API hosts. The data was surfaced through HEROIC's DarkHive monitoring system, which continuosly scans dark web channels and file-sharing platforms for leaked credential sets.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs are not just lists of usernames and passwords. They capture a snapshot of a victim's active sessions at the moment of infection. When an attacker gets access to this kind of data, they can log directly into accounts using real credentials, bypass security questions, and access connected services like email, banking apps, or corporate systems. Because the passwords are in plaintext, there is no cracking required. Anyone who downloads this file can start attempting logins immediatly.

What Was Exposed in the GODELESS CLOUD Leak

  • Email addresses tied to personal and professional accounts
  • Plaintext passwords captured at the moment of theft
  • URLs indicating which sites and services were targeted
  • API host endpoints revealing backend infrastructure

Why This Matters

When email addresses are paired with plaintext passwords and service URLs, attackers have everything they need to launch credential stuffing attacks at scale. They can test these exact login combinations across dozens of other platforms, knowing most people reuse passwords. A single stealer log entry can lead to account takeovers on banking sites, social media, and workplace tools. If the compromised email is tied to a work account, the risk extends to corporate networks and customer data. Identity theft and finantial fraud become real possiblities once login access is established.

How Stealer Logs Work

A stealer log is produced by a type of malware called an infostealer. These programs are typically delivered through phishing emails, fake software downloads, or malicious browser extensions. Once installed on a victim's device, the infostealer quietly captures keystrokes, saved passwords, browser cookies, and active session tokens. It then packages all of this data into a compressed log file and sends it back to the attacker's server. The attacker can then use the data directly or sell it on dark web marketplaces and Telegram channels. The victim usually has no idea this happened until their accounts start showing unauthorized activity.

Check If You Are Affected

HEROIC's free breach scanner searches across more than 400 billion records collected from dark web sources, leaked databases, and stealer log archives. If your email address appears in the GODELESS CLOUD leak or any other known breach, the scanner will flag it. Enter your email at HEROIC to see your full exposure report and take steps to secure your accounts before an attacker gets there first.
