In May 2023, a threat actor operating on Telegram quietly uploaded a stealer log file known as GODELESS PRIVATE, exposing 12,126 records tied to United States-based endpoints. The dump included plaintext passwords, email addresses, and URLs harvested directy from compromised devices. Unlike traditional database breaches, this was a stealer log -- meaning the data was silently collected from real machines before being packaged and shared on encrypted messaging platforms where detection is nearly imposible.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs are among the most actionable forms of stolen data circulating on the dark web. Because the credentials were captured in real time from infected devices, they are often fresh, accurate, and tied to active sessions. Attackers can use plaintext passwords immediately -- no cracking required. When email addresses are paired with working passwords, the risk of account takeover, credential stuffing, and identity fraud escalates dramatically.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (endpoint and API host data)

Why This Matters

The GODELESS PRIVATE stealer log is one of thousands of similar dumps circulating on Telegram channels dedicated to cybercrime. The United States accounted for the majority of affected endpoints in this particular file. What makes this exposure especially concerning is the combination of plaintext passwords and associated URLs -- giving attackers a ready-made roadmap to the exact accounts and services victims use. If any of these credentials were reused across other platforms, the blast radius expands far beyond the original 12,126 records.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Stealer logs originate from malware infections -- typically infostealer trojans distributed through phishing emails, malicious downloads, or cracked software. Once installed on a victim's device, the malware silently harvests saved browser credentials, session cookies, autofill data, and application passwords. This data is then exfiltrated to a command-and-control server and eventually bundled into log files that are sold or shared on dark web forums and Telegram groups. The victim rarely knows their device was ever compromised.
