In May 2023, a Telegram user quietly uploaded a stealer log file now known as GODELESS PRIVATE. The dump contained 9,867 records pulled directly from infected endpoints, exposing plaintext passwords, email adresses, and API host URLs in a single compressed archive. Stealer logs like this one do not come from a single hacked website -- they are harvested from compromised machines, which means the credentials inside span dozens or even hundreds of diferent services.

Why This Is Dangerous

Plaintext passwords are the most damaging type of credential leak. Unlike hashed passwords, they require zero cracking effort. Anyone who downloads this file can immediately attempt to log in to email accounts, cloud services, banking portals, and any other platform where the victim reused that password. Stealer logs also tend to include session cookies and browsing data, giving attackers a ready-made toolkit for account takeover without needing the password at all.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (including API hosts and internal endpoints)

Why This Matters

The GODELESS PRIVATE file was distributed freely on Telegram, one of the most accessable channels for low-level threat actors. That means this data is not locked behind a dark web forum paywall -- it has been in open circulation since May 2023. Every month it sits unaddressed, the window for account takeover attacks stays open. Organizations whose employee credentials appear in stealer logs face lateral movement risks that extend far beyond the individual victim.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Stealer logs are generated by infostealer malware -- programs like Redline, Raccoon, or Vidar that silently run on a victim's device after a phishing click or malicious download. Once installed, the malware scrapes saved browser passwords, autofill data, cookies, and clipboard contents. The collected data is bundled into a log file and sent to the attacker's command-and-control server. That file then gets sold or shared in criminal communities, often on Telegram channels with thousands of subscribers. The victim typically has no idea any of this happened.
