In July 2023, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file posted to Telegram under the name HelloKittyCloud 200, in which an anonymous user published 3,052 records collected from compromised devices. The exposed data included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs pointing to the exact websites and API endpoints where those credentials were used. The dataset was verified as authentic and catalogued in HEROIC's breach database on May 9, 2026.

Why This Is Dangerous

Unlike breached databases where passwords are hashed, stealer logs contain passwords captured live from a victim's device. Every credential in the HelloKittyCloud 200 log was functional at the time it was stolen. Attackers do not need to crack anything -- they can use these email and password pairs directly to attempt logins across banking, email, and social media platforms. The included URLs act as a roadmap, telling criminals exactly which services to attack.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (site endpoints and API hosts)

Why This Matters

Plaintext passwords paired with email addresses are the raw materials for credential stuffing attacks, where criminals run automated tools to test stolen logins across dozens of websites simultaneously. A single successful match can lead to full account takeover, exposing personal messages, financial accounts, and stored payment methods. Identity theft and finantial fraud are common outcomes, especially when the same password is reused on multiple services. Even a dataset of 3,052 records is more than enough to cause real harm to real people.

How Stealer Logs Work

An infostealer is a type of malware that infects a device without the owner noticing. It monitors browser activity, captures passwords as they are entered, copies saved login details from password managers built into browsers, and records session cookies that can bypass two-factor authentication. Once enough data is gathered, the malware packages it into a log file and transmits it to the attacker. These logs are then sold on dark web forums or distributed on Telegram channels to gain status in criminal comunities. The HelloKittyCloud 200 file follows this exact patern -- it was shared freely by an anonymous Telegram user.
