In November 2025, someone using a Telegram account uploaded a fresh stealer log labeled 600 Hotmail Valid, and when HEROIC's dark web monitoring team pulled it apart, it held 598 confirmed records tied to Hotmail accounts. That number might sound small next to the megabreaches that make headlines, but for the 598 people whose logins ended up in a public channel, it's not small at all.

Why This Is Dangerous

Stealer logs are different from a typical hacked database. They don't come from a company getting broken into. They come from malware sitting quietly on someone's own computer, recording everything typed or saved in a browser. That means the passwords in this dump are the real ones people actually use, not old ones from a service that got breached years ago. Attackers love this kind of data becuase it's fresh and it usually still works.

What Was Exposed

  • 598 total records
  • Email Addresses (Hotmail accounts specifically)
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs tied to each login

Why This Matters

Every one of those 598 records pairs an email with the exact plaintext password and the website it was used on. That's not a hint or a partial match, it's a ready to use login. If any of those people reused that same password anywhere else, wich is extremely common, attackers now have a map straight into more accounts than just the original Hotmail one.

How Stealer Logs Work

A stealer log starts life as malware, often hidden inside a cracked game, a fake software installer, or a shady browser extension. Once it lands on a victim's machine it quietly copies saved passwords, browser cookies, and autofill data, then ships the whole package back to whoever is running the campaign. That person or group then packages it up (in this case, into a file called "600 Hotmail Valid") and posts it in a Telegram channel, sometimes for free, sometimes for a price.

Check If You Are Affected

You don't have to wonder if your Hotmail address is sitting in a file like this one. HEROIC runs a free breach scanner that checks your email against a database of more than 400 billion leaked records, this dump included. It only takes a minute to find out, and if you do show up, changing that password imediately is the easiest way to shut the door.
