What HEROIC Found in This Stealer Log

In June 2023, HEROIC's dark web monitoring systems identified a stealer log file uploaded to Telegram by a user operating under the HEZTeam Cloud FREE channel. The dataset contained 1,794 records collected by infostealer malware from compromised devices in the United States, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs captured during active browsing sessions. Researchers tracking this Telegram channel noted it as part of a pattern of regular free credential distributions used to build reputation in underground communities.

Why This Data Is Dangerous

The HEZTeam Cloud FREE dataset gives attackers everything needed to begin account exploitation immediately. With 1,794 plaintext password and email pairs alongside session URLs, a threat actor can:

  • Log directly into victim accounts without any password processing
  • Target specific services identified by the captured URL data
  • Run credential stuffing attacks across banking, email, and cloud platforms
  • Access corporate environments using work credentials captured on infected machines
  • Sell verified working login pairs in dark web markets for profit

Researchers have observed that free Telegram log distributions like HEZTeam Cloud FREE are often used as samples to demonstrate data quality before larger paid datasets are sold. This means the data may have circulated more widely than a simple Telegram post count suggests.

What Was Exposed

Analysis of the HEZTeam Cloud FREE stealer log confirmed the following data types:

  • Email Addresses
  • Plaintext Passwords
  • URLs (login session captures, API endpoints, and browsing destinations)

A total of 1,794 records were exposed. Each record is a seperate compromised device session where infostealer malware silently harvested credentials before transmitting them to the threat actor's channel.

Why This Matters to You

Researchers link free Telegram log releases like HEZTeam Cloud FREE to wider criminal distribution networks. The data in this log was available to any subscriber of the channel at the time of posting, and may have been redistributed multiple times since. If your credentials were included, the risks include:

  • Account takeover -- unauthorized access to your email, banking, and cloud accounts
  • Credential stuffing -- your login pair tested against every major platform automatically
  • Identity theft -- your personal information used to open fraudulent accounts or lines of credit
  • Financial fraud -- payment and banking credentials accessed without any warning

Victims of stealer log breaches typically do not recieve any breach notification. The compromise occurs at the device level, not at the service level, so affected users often remain unaware until an account is accessed from an unfamiliar location or a fraudulent transaction appears. Changing any passwords stored on devices you suspect may have been infected is definately the right immediate step.

How Stealer Log Breaches Work

Stealer logs are produced by infostealer malware -- specialized programs deployed through phishing campaigns, trojanized software, and rogue browser extensions. Once installed on a device, an infostealer captures:

  • All saved passwords from browsers and autofill profiles
  • Active login session cookies that allow attackers to bypass multi-factor authentication
  • URLs of sites the infected user visits and logs into
  • Locally stored email credentials and API access tokens

The captured data is packaged into a log file and sent to a Telegram channel or dark web server. From there, researchers and threat actors alike observed these logs being posted freely, sold to other criminal groups, or traded for access to other datasets. The entire chain from device infection to log distribution can occured within a single day.
