In April 2024, a Telegram user going by ryder699 uploaded a stealer log dump titled "Hotmail by ryder699," exposing 1,303 records tied to Hotmail webmail accounts. The file included email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the login URLs tied to each account.

Why a Hotmail-Focused Stealer Log Is Dangerous

Webmail accounts like Hotmail sit at the center of a person's digital life. Whoever controls an inbox can reset passwords on banking, shopping, and social media accounts through "forgot password" links. That makes a leak of 1,303 Hotmail logins far more dangerous than the number alone suggests, because each one is a potential key to several other accounts.

What Was Exposed in the ryder699 Hotmail Leak

  • Hotmail email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords (unencrypted)
  • Login URLs associated with each account

Why This Matters

Since the passwords were stored in plaintext, anyone who gets hold of this file can use them immediately. That enables credential stuffing against other sites where the same password may have been reused, account takeover of the Hotmail inbox itself, and downstream identity theft or financial fraud once an attacker gains access to linked accounts.

How Stealer Logs Target Webmail Accounts

Info-stealing malware infects a device, often through a pirated program or malicious attachment, then harvests every saved password and autofill entry in the browser. Webmail credentials are especially prized because email is the recovery point for almost every other online account. Once collected, logs like this one are packaged and shared on Telegram channels such as the one run by ryder699.
