HEROIC Analysts Uncover the "Hotmail Fresh B4_Jx" Combolist

HEROIC analysts identified a combolist file labeled "Hotmail Fresh B4_Jx," uploaded to a Telegram channel and dated April 7, 2026. The file contains 151 records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and a matching URL, and its naming suggests it was compiled around freshly harvested Hotmail-linked credentials.

Why This Is Dangerous

The word "fresh" in this file's name is a warning sign on its own. Criminals label combolists this way specifically to signal that the credentials are recently harvested and more likely to still work. Because the passwords are stored in plaintext and paired with direct login URLs, an attacker can attempt to sign in immediately, with no cracking or guessing required.

What Was Exposed

  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs linked to the accounts

Why This Matters

Even a modest list of 151 records can cause outsized damage once it is fed into credential-stuffing tools. Attackers automatically test each email and password pair against email providers, banking sites, and online retailers, hoping the same password was reused. Because so many people reuse credentials across accounts, a single exposed record can lead to account takeover, financial fraud, or identity theft.

How "Fresh" Combolists Like This Are Made

A combolist is a plain-text file of "combo" entries, an email or username paired with a password. Lists marketed as "fresh" are typically assembled from recent phishing campaigns, malware infections, or newly leaked data, then packaged and labeled to highlight how current the credentials are, which makes them more attractive to buyers on Telegram channels and dark web forums.
