A file going around Telegram under the name HOTMAIL FRESH claims to hold newly stolen Hotmail accounts, and inside it are 1,311 records with real email addresses and passwords attached. The word "fresh" in the filename is the concerning part, it suggests these credentials were harvested recently and probably still work.

Why This Is Dangerous

A Hotmail or Outlook inbox is often the master key to someone's whole digital life. It is where password reset links get sent, where old statements and personal messages pile up, and where other accounts are tied for recovery. Loosing access to that one inbox can cascade into losing control of banking, shopping, and social accounts too.

What Was Exposed

  • 1,311 total records
  • Email addresses
  • Plaintext passwords
  • URLs associated with each login

Why This Matters

Because these passwords are stored as plaintext, there is nothing standing between the attacker and the account except whether the victim has changed their password since the file leaked. Email accounts especially get reused for years without a password change, wich makes older leaks like this one seperate but still very much active threats.

How Stealer Logs Work

Lists labeled "fresh" typically come from recent malware infections, where the stealer grabbed saved logins straight from the victim's browser before the file was compiled and sorted by email provider. Hotmail and Outlook addresses get pulled out and grouped together because they are valuable on their own, apart from the rest of the stolen data.
