In July 2025, HEROIC analysts found a combolist simply named "Ok" uploaded to a Telegram channel by an unnamed user. Despite the plain, unremarkable file name, it contained 1,727 real records, each pairing an email address with a plaintext password and the URL of the login page it unlocks. Files with generic names like this one are common on Telegram, where sellers often prioritize speed of distribution over descriptive labeling. Why This Is Dangerous: All 1,727 passwords in this file are stored in plain text, meaning anyone who downloads it can read and use the credentials immediately. Each record also includes the exact URL of the account it belongs to, so an attacker does not need to guess where a stolen login might work. What Was Exposed: - Email addresses - Plaintext passwords - URLs for the associated login pages Why This Matters: A generic file name does nothing to reduce the real-world risk to the 1,727 people in this leak. If any of these passwords are reused on other accounts, banking, shopping, or personal email, attackers can attempt credential stuffing against those other services using the exact same login information. How Combolists Work: A combolist is a compiled list of email or username and password combinations, typically assembled from older breaches, stealer logs, or previous leaks and merged into a single file. Many of these files circulate under vague or throwaway names like "Ok," since the label matters far less to sellers than the working credentials inside, which are shared or sold across Telegram channels and dark web forums. Check If You Are Affected: A forgettable file name does not mean a forgettable risk. HEROIC's free breach scanner checks your email against a database of more than 400 billion breached records, including combolists like this one, so you can find out in seconds whether you are affected.
