In April 2024, HEROIC analysts identified a stealer log file titled 150 PCS - 15 April - Free Logs shared freely on Telegram. The file contained 2,385 records harvested from infected devices, including email addresses, plaintext passwords, and the URLs where those credentials were used. How this stealer log led to 2,385 exposed logins: the 150 PCS in the file's name refers to roughly 150 infected computers, meaning malware installed on that many devices quietly collected login information as victims browsed the web. Every password captured this way is stored in plaintext and tied to the exact site it unlocks, so no cracking or guessing is needed for an attacker to use it. What was exposed in this stealer log: email addresses, plaintext passwords, and URLs where each password was used. Why this matters even for a free log: because this log was shared for free, it likely reached far more people than a paid combolist would, meaning more attackers now have access to these 2,385 credential pairs. Free distribution speeds up the timeline for credential stuffing, account takeover, identity theft, and financial fraud against anyone caught up in the file. How malware creates logs like this: infostealer malware infects a device through cracked software, fake installers, or malicious attachments, then runs silently in the background, capturing saved passwords, autofill data, and browser sessions. Once enough machines are infected, the operator bundles the results, in this case around 150 devices, into a single log file and releases it, sometimes for sale, sometimes for free to build a reputation in Telegram communities. Check if you are affected: if you've downloaded cracked software or unfamiliar files recently, check whether your credentials appear in this stealer log or others.
