Password Type plaintext

HEROIC continued tracking the HUNTER_CLOUD VIP Logs series and identified the third batch released on Telegram in July 2026. This Part 3 installment adds another 11,880 records to the growing collection, with each record containing an email address, a plaintext password, and the URL where those credentials were originally captured. The ongoing nature of these releases demonstrates a persistent and well-organized malware operation.

No Encryption, No Protection: Plaintext Passwords in the Open

As with the previous batches, every password in HUNTER_CLOUD Part 3 is stored in plaintext. There is no cryptographic protection of any kind. These passwords are as readable as any text on a webpage, and they can be used to log into accounts the instant an attacker reads them. The lack of hashing or encryption means victims have zero time buffer between the moment their data is accessed and the moment their accounts become vulnerable.

What Was Exposed

  • Email Addresses — login identifiers that connect to personal, financial, and work accounts
  • Plaintext Passwords — completely unencrypted, immediately exploitable credentials
  • URLs — the exact web services where each credential set was originally used

The Credential Stuffing Threat Grows With Each Batch

Each new part of the HUNTER_CLOUD series adds thousands more credentials to the pool available for credential stuffing attacks. Automated tools cycle through these email-password pairs against banking sites, email services, cloud platforms, and corporate networks. With three batches now released, the cumulative attack surface spans tens of thousands of unique credential pairs. For victims who reuse passwords, a match on any single service can lead to a cascade of compromised accounts.

The Story Behind the Data: Malware to Marketplace

The journey from victim to leaked record follows a well-established pattern. First, infostealer malware is distributed through phishing campaigns, malicious downloads, or compromised websites. The malware runs silently on the infected device, extracting saved credentials from every browser, capturing active session cookies, and monitoring clipboard and keyboard activity. The stolen data is sent to a command server, organized into log files, and ultimately published through the HUNTER_CLOUD Telegram channel in sequential batches for consumption by other criminals.

Check If Your Credentials Were Exposed

The HUNTER_CLOUD series continues to grow, and 11,880 more people are now at risk from this Part 3 release alone. Use the HEROIC data breach scanner to search across more than 400 billion compromised records and determine if your email or password appears in any part of the HUNTER_CLOUD collection or any other known breach. If your credentials are found, change them immediately, adopt unique passwords for every service, and enable two-factor authentication to add a strong second line of defense.
